About This Tool

This tool renders each page of your PDF as a high-quality raster image using PDF.js, the same open-source library that powers Firefox’s built-in PDF viewer. Choose PNG for lossless quality or JPG for smaller file sizes. Each page converts independently, so you can download specific pages or all of them. The entire process runs in your browser — your PDF is never uploaded to any server, making it safe for contracts, medical records, and confidential documents. After export you can reduce image file size further if the pages are destined for email or the web.

What is the largest PDF the PDF to Images tool can handle?
No hard cap, but every page is rendered client-side through pdf.js at 2× resolution, which uses memory proportional to page size. Most 200-page PDFs complete in under a minute on modern hardware. For PDFs larger than ~50MB or those with high-resolution embedded images, processing a page at a time may be more reliable than rendering all pages at once.
What resolution are the output images?
Images are rendered at 2x the PDF’s standard resolution (typically 144 DPI), producing clear, high-quality images suitable for presentations and web use. This is equivalent to a 'Retina' resolution.
Can I convert password-protected PDFs?
Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before conversion. The tool cannot process encrypted files — remove the password protection first using your PDF reader’s security settings.
How many pages can I convert at once?
There is no page limit. The tool processes each page sequentially. Very long documents (100+ pages) may take longer depending on page complexity and your device’s processing power.
